CBM is a 25-year-old specialist publisher running ten consumer-facing brands and three flagship awards across the UK and US. We hire editors, journalists, designers, commercial leads, event producers and operators — and most of our senior team has been with the business for a decade or more.

What it's like to work here

Three things that shape the place.

CBM is privately owned, editorially independent, and small enough that the people who set the strategy still know everyone's name. The trade-offs that come with that, and the upside, are the three things below.

Editorial independence, properly

We don't run advertorial as news, we don't have an investor group asking for traffic at any cost, and we publish a clearly-stated conflict-of-interest policy on every awards programme. The titles are written for the readers, not for the algorithm.

Specialist depth, no general-news pressure

Every brand is built around a specialist audience — SME founders, fund managers, fleet buyers, country businesses. The journalism is depth-first, not race-to-publish. Most stories take days to commission and write, not hours.

Three offices. Work-from-anywhere. Decent diaries.

CBM has offices in London, New York and Florida — but we operate a full work-from-anywhere policy. The offices are there if you want them; the work doesn’t require them. We protect calendars too: meetings on Tues / Wed / Thurs, deep-work Mondays and Fridays.
